Dusk X Dawn series, chapter 1
Finally! My old love, Dusk X Dawn
has been published online! I'm so happy!
I managed to muster the courage to actually do it !
You can read it on Tapastic.
Even though I started writing and drawing on it six years ago as a short, 2-3 page gag series...
Six years! That's a lot! A lot of drawing and redrawing and re-redrawing!...
But, hey! I have five chapters now, haven't I? :D Yay! And the process of making them was so exciting! I first made the layout thumbnails (1 week), then the rough sketch (1 week). After that, I spent about 3 weeks doing the outline with pen and ink , because I made a ton of mistakes, mostly smudging ink on the paper...
I added tones and text in Manga Studio. It took me like 3 days, working 2-3 hours per night, but after finishing it I noticed some of the panels were drawn from left to right, instead of right to left!
But I kinda did. A litlle. Ok, a lot.
It was the 7th time redrawing some of the pages... And then I realised I could have just move the panels on the page, in like, Paint.
Which I did, and it took me 2 minutes.
I was kinda afraid that if I draw this series seriesly, I will end up hating it because it will become a chore. Fortunetly, I was wrong! It was the exact opposite: I can't wait to sit down at the drawing table (although...I am in fact standing, when I draw....dunno why) and start working.
After uploading it, I still notice little details that I should have probably drawn better...but I'll think of this as gaining experience in the process and will definetly apply what I learn on the next chapter.
